JACKING UP THE CAR

Rear

Make sure the car is in 1st gear with the clutch engaged. You may want to put blocks in front of the front wheels so the car doesn’t slide. Put the jack right in the middle of the two rear wheels. There is a spot there where it looks like a jack should go. Jack up the car as high as needed. Put a jackstand on each side near the rear of the car under the rails that run down the sides of the car between the wheels. Slowly lower the car onto the jackstands. I like to leave the jack about 1 inch below one of the rails next to a jackstand.

Front

Make sure the emergency brake is applied. You may want to put blocks behind the rear wheels so the car doesn’t slide. Put the jack between the two front wheels. The jacking point is a little off center. It is closer to the drivers side. Jack the car up as high as needed. Make sure the passenger side jackstand will fit because that side will be the lowest. Put a jackstand on each side near the front of the car under the rails that run down the sides of the car between the wheels. Slowly lower the car onto the jackstands. I like to leave the jack about 1 inch below one of the rails next to a jackstand.
